Autumn Term 2024

We are looking forward to this term, seeing where our learning takes us, as we begin to consider transition and change, moving onto Year 6 or even Year 7.

Saint Christopher

Each class at St. Patrick’s has a class saint that we learn about throughout the year. We talk about our Saint regularly and encourage the children to learn, talk and ask questions about their Saint. Each Saint has a Feast Day, where we celebrate their lives and what they did in order to become a Saint.

In Wooley Woods, our class saint is Saint Christopher. St. Christopher was a martyr of the Roman empire and is most well-known as the patron saint of travelers. St. Christopher’s feast day is the 25th of August.

Religious Education

At St. Patrick's our day begins and ends with prayer and our mission to be like Jesus is at the forefront of everything we do. We celebrate R.E. in many different ways throughout the year.

Godly Play is an amazing tool to help enhance the spiritual growth of our children at St Patricks. Over the last few years we have been building up our own set of resources, so that we can deliver Godly Play sessions in class.

Prayer warriors/ liturgy leaders

Some of our Y5 children have been trained, so that they can deliver liturgical prayer and Godly Play stories to our class and to other classes in KS1 and KS2.

Liturgical Prayer

We end each RE topic with a very special Liturgical prayer, planned and led by our children. Parents/ Carers, Headteacher, other staff members and father are all welcome to celebrate the end of our topic.

Remembrance 11.11.2022

The children studied 'In Flanders Fields' the poem written by John McCrae. They were inspired to write their own remembrance poems and create their own artwork.

Interfaith week- Judaism

Throughout Judaism week, we studied the faith by carrying out research, we created non-chronological reports and painted beautiful Menorahs. We shared artefacts, such as the Torah, Yad, Kippah and Seder plate.
